Asanā is a personal finance tracker for Android. This policy explains how your data is handled. The short version: it isn't collected — everything stays on your device, encrypted.
All information you enter — accounts, transactions, budgets, and categories — is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. No data is ever sent to us or any third party.
Asanā makes zero network requests. It does not connect to the internet, cloud services, or any external APIs — ever.
Financial data is stored in a private app database accessible only to Asanā. It is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.
The local database is encrypted on your device, so its contents cannot be read by other apps or by anyone inspecting the phone's files.
You can require biometric or screen-lock authentication to open the app (Settings → Security). This uses your device's own fingerprint, face, or screen lock. Asanā never sees, collects, or stores your fingerprint, face data, PIN, or password — authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system.
You can export your data to any location you choose — device storage, your own cloud drive, or email. You are solely responsible for how exported files are stored or shared.
Encrypted backup (recommended) — protected by a recovery code shown when you create it. The code is required to restore the backup and is never stored or transmitted by the app; if you lose it, not even the developer can open the file.
Unencrypted backup (JSON) — a plain, human-readable file for moving data to other tools. Anyone who obtains this file can read its contents, so keep it private.
Asanā uses no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any other purpose.
Asanā is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed at children. As the app collects no data, it does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
